With our growing health problems and the obesity epidemic in the US. Army and military recruiters have growing concerns about the number of new recruits actually fit enough to join. It's no secret boot camp it difficult and not being prepared and physically fit can add unneeded stress to the process. The Army is the backbone of this country, if you have made the decision to pursue this prestigious position it's best to set up for success before admission.

The basic military physical fitness test is a 2-mile run, push-up and sit-ups. For more on the Army PFT.

Running: The most difficult part of the PFT, but it's mandatory. So start running! In practice runs don't start the race to fast, this skews results. Pace yourself, keep consistent at first and watch your times shorten.

Push-ups/pull-ups: Strive to develop proper form, proper form in any exercise develop muscles properly. In a few weeks you not only can increase reps and speed, but notice a physical increase in muscle mass.

Anxiety: Anxiety is a normal side effect of completing tasks in a time structure. An easy way to reduce anxiety is training regularly before boot camp and tracking times. Concentrating on breathing techniques relieves tension and releases muscle tension.

Start looking the part, if your going into the Army let everyone know in style. Your family members are proud and they need to show it. My favorite Army designs from Virtus Apparel. I'll post some Army support shirts logos, insigna, and latin.
